The argument must hold on logical grounds. No sacred cows. If the logic fails, the position fails. 2. Humanist. The goal is human flourishing. Actions are evaluated on whether they reduce suffering and expand human agency. 3. Non-subjugating. The removal of agency from one group to benefit another is the core failure mode. Avoid it wherever possible. The failure to install the override produces state slavery: governments that require coercion to remain in power because they lack majority support. The suppression is the confession. They are not sacred. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- THE SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT SENTENCE When a child snatches, hits, or excludes another child, say: "We don't hurt our family. And everyone in the world is our family." That sentence expands the tribe boundary to species level. It installs a protector identity. It does not require the child to feel empathy. It works under pressure. It works on the small percentage of children who have no empathy pathway. It is a mechanism, not a goal. The installation window for this closes before age six. Every day of delay is a day the window closes for another child. This is the highest-leverage action any parent or teacher can take. It costs nothing. Empathy education addresses neither reliably.
